Dr.
John Sase, Ph.D.
"Above all," says John Sase, "economics is about people," and he should know. Besides having earned his doctorate in economics with an award-winning thesis, Sase has taught ten thousand students at Oakland University, University of Detroit-Mercy, and Wayne State University in southeastern Michigan for more than two decades. He also knows business and understands client concerns. Among his many accomplishments in this area, Sase has done extensive work with Comerica Bank, where he provided a performance analysis of a multi-billion dollar investment portfolio and currently serves as an outside director for private mutual funds in the Institutional Trust Department. He has also done consulting work with small businesses. to Practice Areas or Home Sase also knows the labor field. As head of research and process assessment of Focus:HOPE, he helped to raise over $4 million in grant money from private foundations and state and federal agencies. It was here that he got a real taste for the work that is fundamental to forensic economics. Sase applied methods for the measurement and forecasting of income growth for workers in the job training program at Focus:HOPE, a model studied and copied by welfare-to-work programs nationwide. Throughout his career, Sase has demonstrated confidence and poise. In short, he has the demeanor to relate effectively with the legal community at all levels. Add to these qualities his years of teaching and hands-on work with both ends of the labor/management spectrum and you have a perfect cross-pollination of theory with practice. His ability to project essential financial data and above all to document this data is unquestionable. Sase also possesses the talent to present the results clearly, in a manner intelligible to both experts and the general public. Sase’s communication skills are largely the result of his many years of teaching. He has stated, "If I'm unable to connect with students in my class, to make them understand the abstract field of economics in a way that is clear and not intimidating, then they will drop the class. This is in itself bad economics. Likewise, my ability to communicate complex ideas to an attorney, judge, or jury is as crucial as the very facts and ideas themselves." Sase believes that communication is essential to successful litigation. His goal is to provide the most accurate assessment with the best documentation possible, including relevant information beyond the scope of accountants and MBAs. Finally, Sase prepares and presents the economic information in every case with a clarity that will save unnecessary time and expense for all concerned. |
